Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 June 2026 · localcreators.live

This policy explains what personal information localcreators.live ("we," "us") collects, why, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, members, and creators and sits alongside our Terms of Use. By using the platform you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
This is a clear, honest starting policy for an early-stage platform. Privacy law (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others) varies by where your users live — have this reviewed by a qualified attorney and adapt it to the regions you serve before launch.

1 Information we collect

You give us

  • Account details: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure one-way hash — we never see your actual password);
  • Creator details: if you become a creator, identity and payout information you provide is collected and verified by Stripe (see Section 4); we receive limited confirmation and status, not your full banking or ID documents;
  • Content & communications: things you stream, upload, or type in chat, and messages you send us.

We collect automatically

  • Usage & device data: pages viewed, actions taken, browser type, and similar technical information;
  • IP address, used for approximate location, security, and abuse prevention;
  • Approximate location derived from your IP (see Section 2);
  • Session cookie to keep you logged in (see Section 6).

From others

  • Stripe gives us payment and subscription status, and creator verification/payout status — not full card or bank numbers;
  • Cloudflare (our network provider) supplies approximate location signals and security data.

2 Location data — approximate only

A core feature of the platform is showing you creators near your area. To do this we use your IP address to estimate an approximate location — typically your city or region — provided by our network provider, Cloudflare. We use this to personalize what you see (for example, "creators near you") and to display approximate distances.

We do not collect GPS or precise device location, and we don't publish anyone's exact location. Distances shown on the platform are approximate and intended to give a general sense of proximity, not a precise position.

3 How we use information

  • Provide, operate, and personalize the platform (including location-based discovery);
  • Create and secure your account and keep you logged in;
  • Process memberships, tips, and creator payouts through Stripe;
  • Keep the platform safe — moderation, fraud prevention, enforcing our Terms, and meeting legal obligations;
  • Respond to your messages and provide support;
  • Understand usage so we can improve features and reliability;
  • Send service communications (for example, security or account notices). We will only send marketing messages if permitted, and you can opt out.

We rely on the legal bases of performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the platform, your consent where required, and compliance with law.

4 Payments & Stripe

All payments — memberships, tips, and creator payouts — are processed by Stripe. When you pay or get paid, your information is handled by Stripe under Stripe's Privacy Policy. Stripe handles card details, and for creators it performs identity verification and banking ("Know Your Customer") and may issue tax forms.

We do not store your full card number or bank account details. We keep limited records needed to operate the service — such as your Stripe customer reference, subscription status, and a ledger of tips (amount, recipient, fee, and status) — but not your raw financial credentials.

5 When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With service providers who run the platform for us — including Stripe (payments), our hosting provider, and Cloudflare (network/security) — who may only use it to provide their service to us;
  • Publicly, by your choice: creators appear publicly, and anything you post in chat is visible to others in that room;
  • For safety & legal reasons: to enforce our Terms, prevent fraud or harm, comply with law or valid legal requests, or protect the rights and safety of users and the public;
  • In a business transfer: if the platform is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this policy.

6 Cookies & sessions

We use a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in. It is HttpOnly (not readable by scripts), restricted to our site, and marked Secure on HTTPS. It's necessary for the service to function. We don't use third-party advertising cookies. If we add optional analytics in the future, we'll update this policy and provide any consent controls required where you live.

7 How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, while you have an account, and afterward as needed to complete transactions, keep financial and tax records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Payment and payout records may be retained as required for accounting and legal reasons (often several years). When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

8 How we protect information

  • Passwords are stored only as salted one-way hashes;
  • Connections are encrypted with HTTPS;
  • Login sessions use hardened, HttpOnly cookies, and sensitive actions are protected against cross-site request forgery;
  • Logins are rate-limited to deter guessing, and our database isn't directly reachable from the web.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information. If a breach affects you, we'll notify you and the authorities as required by law.

9 Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:

  • Reset your password any time from the log-in page, and contact us to update your email;
  • Cancel a membership at any time (managed through Stripe's billing portal);
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must keep by law;
  • Contact us to exercise any privacy right (see Section 13).

We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights. If you're in a region with a supervisory authority, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with it.

10 Age & children

The platform is strictly for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will close it and delete their information. If you believe a minor is using the platform, contact us immediately.

11 International transfers

We and our service providers (including Stripe and Cloudflare) may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. By using the platform, you understand your information may be processed in these locations.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves or the law changes. We'll post the new version with an updated date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
